BPI Held Series of Empowerment Programs in Villages Affected by Central Java CFPP

BPI Inaugurates 13 Mini Libraries for 13 TPA in Seven Affected Villages 
 
To provide an alternative income, daily farmers and tenant farmers received another social compensation

Batang, 23 November 2016 - PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) in collaboration with the Library, Archive and Documentation Office (KPADs) Batang, today inaugurated 13 mini libraries for children in TPA (Quran Education School) in seven villages affected by power plant in Central Java CFPP. The activities centralized on the TPA Assalam, Wonokerso village marked with the handover of the Islamic reading books symbolically received by representatives of the TPA’s located in seven villages.

The mini libraries program has been one of BPI initiatives with the aim for promoting reading awareness from an early age. Therefore, the children expected to be the new generations of the learned knowledge and noble. In this program, BPI enrich and facilitate them with book shelves and hundred copies of books.

Operational Director of BPI, Shiroki Yamashita revealed KPADs Batang partnership program is part of the company's commitment to participate actively for the community development on all sectors for the people around the Central Java CFPP area. 

"We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Batang local government for the continuous supports for BPI’s empowerment program. The synergy among company, local governments and all society will be the key success for every program," said Yamashita.

Parties who participate and contribute on the program, like Perpusda as the main advisors and the manager of TPA committed together so that the success of this program become a shared responsibility for all stakeholders. Following this ceremony, the book shelves and the books will be given and distributed directly to a representative of TPA in the village of Ujungnegoro, Kenconorejo, Ponowareng, Simbangjati, Karanggeneng and Beji.

Since 2015, in order to increase knowledge and support the quality of education to educational institutions, both formal and non-formal, BPI has provided assistance for facilities and infrastructure such as tables and chairs, the Koran (Quran), and cupboards to 19 TPA / TPQ in the area affected by Central Java CFPP. Teachers TPA / TPQ in 9 villages around the area affected by the construction of the power plant have also joined in Community Business Group (KUB), in order to increase their income through savings and loan activities for productive ventures.
 
In addition to a library program, today, BPI also continues the distribution of social compensation which is done in a gradual from morning until this afternoon in Ujungnegoro Village Hall.

President Director of BPI, Takashi Irie added that social compensation disbursement is solutions and company strong commitment to support the communities affected by the power plant in order to the community productivity. In addition to social compensation, BPI also gives replacement land for tenant farmers approximately 1200 m2.

"We are grateful to the social compensation programs which have a positive impact on society. Tenant farmers have also begun to enjoy the harvest from the replacement land which we provide as part of the social mitigation program, "he added.

Central Java CFPP in Batang, Central Java which currently on the construction phase is expected to generate electricity on 2020. The power plant project is part of the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), which will become the locomotive of economic development of Indonesia.
