Supporting HIV / AIDS Campaign, BPI Conducted Midwives Training Around CJPP Area
Batang, December 14th – in order for improving understanding and public awareness of HIV and AIDS, today (14/12) PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) organized trainings for medical workers in the districts of Kandeman and Tulis, Batang Regency, Central Java.
Training on "Participation of Health Workers against HIV / AIDS" was attended by 35 participants consisting of general practitioners, paramedics and midwives who have the opportunity to follow training in HIV / AIDS from Batang District Health Office medical experts.
Operational Director of BPI, Shiroki Yamashita said that through this training midwives and paramedics in the village will get a better understanding of HIV / AIDS, so it can be presented to other communities.
"Through this training, quality of maternity services and health workers as a leading figure in preventing HIV / AIDS in the community can be improved. BPI has the commitment and interest to improve public health quality in Batang."

Based on the research team of expert HIV / AIDS and Cooperation with Alumni Relations Manager Faculty of Nursing University of Indonesia and UNAIDS data on Aids Day on December 1st, the number of people living with HIV is estimated at 610,000 people with a tendency that number continues to rise. While the AIDS Mitigation Commission (KPA) and the Central Java Province Health Office, until mid-2016 there were 6902 cases of AIDS. This number rises to 1,860 cases in less than 6 months whereas previously in December 2015 recorded 5,042 cases of HIV / AIDS.
Yamashita added that public awareness of the dangers of HIV and AIDS is still relatively low. While currently HIV / AIDS is the most deadly diseases in the world. With those training, paramedics in the village can exchange ideas and get better understanding of the effort to detect and anticipate the early prevention and HIV and AIDS treatment both for themselves, families, neighborhoods and communities.
"Prevention of HIV / AIDS requires community participation. BPI will continue to support and take a role in the prevention of these diseases in Batang," he said.
Meanwhile, the Regional Technical Implementing Unit (UPTD) Tulis, dr. Hj. Wiwit are welcomes the commitment and efforts of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia to support government programs. According to her, this good intention requires synergy of all the parties to raise public awareness of the latent danger of HIV / AIDS.

"Along with a prevalence rate with the increase of HIV / AIDS from year to year in Batang, all stakeholders are required for continues synergy from the community to educate people about the importance of understanding the early detection of HIV / AIDS, and through this event hope that HIV / AIDS patient have been detected early can be handled properly," she explained.
Implementation of the training program is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia in partnership with the health sector and UPTD Kandeman which has been implemented since 2013 in an effort to improve public health services in the area affected by the construction of the plant. This training has been carried out periodically and will be continued with the aim to increase the capacity of medical workers.
As a form of BPI concern to the improvement of public health, the company provides medical equipment to six Community Business Group (KUB) cadres in six villages in the area affected by the power plant in Central Java. BPI handed medical equipment distributed and used for Posyandu activities such as baby scales, bathroom scales, heights measuring device.
