BPI CONDUCT SOCIALIZATION FOR FISH APARTMENT INSTALLATION

Batang, 30 November – PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) conducted fish apartment installation and socialization around Central Java Coal Fired Power Plant (Central Java CFPP) 2 x 1,000 MW area in Kandeman Regency office, on Wednesday (30/11).  

Fish apartment serves as an artificial habitat to recover less productive fishing areas that are expected to increase fish production and will used continously by fishermen. Socialization and an explanation of the fish apartment were done by Wahyu Tri Wibowo, S.Pi of the Center for Fishing (BBPI) Semarang. 

 


Socialization for fish apartment installation and construction was presented to representatives of fishermen from Ujungnegoro village, District Kandeman, West Roban Village and Kedungsegog village, District Tulis, East Roban, Sengon Village, District Subah. In addition to fisherman, BPI also involving relevant government agencies in Batang Regency and Central Java province and involving the Fishermen Association of Indonesia (HNSI) Branch Batang, as the advisor of fishing communities.
 
 

Construction and installation of these fish apartmet will be conducted by consultants with labor involvement from fishing communities in the affected villages. The Consultant will involve the participation of local fishing groups in the construction and installation of the fish apartment. The fish apartment will be installed in three locations in the area around the power plant in Central Java is around Karang Kretek, Karang Maeso, and one location is considered as a local fisherman fishing ground. This is done based on the mandate contained in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
