BPI Holds Journalism Competition BPI 2018

Batang, June 5, 2018 - PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) held BPI Journalistic Competition (KJ BPI) for the second time. This activity is part of the capacity building program of local journalists as partners in various publication and in order to strengthen communication with local journalists.
BPI President Director Takashi Irie said the KJ BPI 2018 was held in addition to motiivate the journalists' and improvement for journalist capacity building by producing good quality of journalistic products.
"We would like to extend our gratitude for the participation to our fellow journalists in KJ BPI 2018. We hope that journalistic competition will encourage them to continuously develop themselves and produce the best works in presenting a balanced and good publication," said Irie. Furthermore, Irie explains one of the most importance is good and open communication so that every news, either good or bad can be balanced from both side.
Theme for this year's competition is "PLTU Central Java Development Encouraging the Realization of an Independent Economic Community". The theme was taken with the aim of improving public understanding about the important role of CJPP and BPI in encouraging economic and social empowerment to the community around the power plant location, because the presence of CJPP in Central Java is able to provide sustainable economic impact to the community.
The competition was runs from January to May 2018 with two categories, category News Article and News Photos. In addition to these two categories, KJ BPI 2018 also appreciates the journalists who most actively participate by submitting the most articles. In KJ BPI 2018, the committee earned a total of 155 articles from 135 articles and 20 news photo which are then selected by category and judged by panel of judges.
One of the jury of KJ BPI 2018 Amir Mahmud who also serves as Chairman of PWI (Journalist Association) Central Java expressed his appreciation to the BPI that has organized a competition for journalists. He said the activity is very positive to build a competitive climate among journalists in generating the best work ideas by promoting the principles of journalism.
According to Amir, this activity is very good to foster the spirit of positive competition among journalists to produce the best works and ideas. "With the implementation of activities such as BPI Journalism Competition is certainly able to grow the spirit of the journalist to be able to process and present information to inspiring news," said Amir. Amir also appreciated the work of the participants who are growing and improving in quality. "The quality of journalistic work produced continues to increase, taking into account the principles of journalism, especially accountability."
Based on the results of the judges' assessment, the best work and the winners of KJ BPI 2018 are as follows:
