Again, Two School Assisted by PT BPI Won the National Adiwiyata School Award

BATANG—Once again, two schools assisted by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) received awards as National Adiwiyata Schools in 2022. The awards were given virtually by the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, Thursday (1/12), due to an increase in Covid-19 cases nationally.
The awards were given to 94 Adiwiyata Mandiri schools at SD/MI (Elementary School), SMP/MTs (Junior High School), and SMA/SMK/MA (Senior High School) levels, and to 305 National Adiwiyata schools at SD/MI, SMP/MTs, and SMA/SMK/MA levels throughout Indonesia. While 16 schools in Central Java received the Mandiri Adiwiyata award, and 50 schools received National Adiwiyata schools award.
Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong advised in his remarks virtually that this award is one of the government's forms of appreciation for the world of education that cares about the environment. Then, this award is also a motivation for other schools that have not joined the Adiwiyata school program.
"We would like to thank the school principals, teachers, school employees, parents, and all parties involved in the Caring and Cultured Environment Movement (PBLHS) and achieving the Adiwiyata award," said Alue Dohong, Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia , in his speech.
The Principal of SD Negeri Karanggeneng 02 Kustantina said that the award was received because the hardwork from the school and also the synergy with PT BPI, the Environmental Service of Batang Regency, the Education & Culture Office of Batang Regency, and other stakeholders who support and motivate the environmentally operated school program. We would like to thank all parties, especially PT BPI for assistance and support its activities.
"Alhamdulillah, the hardwork towards a National Adiwiyata school has finally achieved good result, after several years of following the stages from the district and provincial levels. This award will be the basis for us to be even more enthusiastic so that we can achieve Adiwiyata Mandiri." Thursday (1/12).
The Principal of SD Negeri Ponowareng 01, Mokhamad Jamal Nasher, also conveyed the same thing, while received the National Adiwiyata School award with SD Negeri Karanggeneng 02 virtually. The Principal of SD Negeri Ponowareng 01 expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported and helped optimally to be able to achieved this national award.
"Thank you to PT BPI for always faithfully assisting and supporting SD Negeri Ponowareng 01, starting from the district, province, to national levels. and also the Environmental Service of Batang Regency, Education and Culture, the teachers, parents and students, for the team work to implement this Adiwiyata school program”said M Jamal Nasher, Principal of SD Negeri 01 Ponowareng, after participating in the acceptance of the National and Independent Adiwiyata awards by the Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya online, Thursday (1/11)
DLH Secretary for Batang Regency Suyaeni also expressed his gratitude to PT BPI which has been supporting the Adiwiyata School program in Batang Regency. because, until now there have been 5 Elementary Schools and 1 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah that have received the National Adiwiyata School award. DLH Batang Regency has also made an intensive effort to provide directions and involve.
"We hope that what has been done by PT BPI through its CSR program, can be followed by other companies in Batang Regency, to participate in supporting the government's environmental program. This is a reliable form of cooperation and synergy, and good communication between investors and local government” said Suyaeni, after participating in the award ceremony virtually in SD Karanggeneng 02, Thursday (1/12).
Chief Operational Officer of PT BPI Yoshimitsu Fujii said that since 2016, PT BPI has supported the Adiwiyata School program, which is an environmentally operated school for 20 SD/MI (Elementary School) and SMP/MTs (Junior High School) levels around the Batang Power Plant. Six of the Adiwiyata Schools have received National Level awards, namely MI Ujungnegoro 02 in 2018, SDN Kenconorejo 01 and SDN Simbangjati in 2019, SDN Ujungnegoro 01 in 2021, and SDN Karanggeneng 02 and SDN Ponowareng 01 in 2022.
"We hope that all the 20 Adiwiyata schools assisted by the company will achieve the National Level and the Mandiri Level.” said Yoshimitsu Fujii, Thursday (1/12).
