President Director of BPI Ryuta Sato said, "This program is a form of corporate social and environmental responsibility while fulfilling the direction from the Central Java Provincial Government to jointly control forest/land damage which is expected to support the acceleration of land cover increase and improve the economy of the people of Batang Regency through the movement of planting trees in watersheds, especially in Permit Land Utilization of Social Forestry Forests".
"On this occasion, we handed over two types of Multipurpose Trees Species / MPTS consisting of 2,000 robusta coffee seeds and 1,700 tangerine seedlings to the Tombo Village Government which aims to accelerate the recovery of forest resources, reduce erosion, sedimentation and run-off as well as increase water catchment areas and improve the quality of the carrying capacity of the Sustainable Watershed in Tombo Village", said Ryuta Sato".
At the end of his speech, Ryuta Sato expressed his gratitude to the Central Java Provincial Government and the Batang Regency Government and the Environment and Forestry Office of Central Java for the cooperation.
Meanwhile, Assistant 2 of the Central Java Provincial Government, Sujarwanto really appreciates what has been done by BPI, because this activity is very useful for the balance of nature.
"BPI is very extraordinary, because the power plant location is in the coastal area but carried out a tree planting movement in Tombo Village, which is very far from the power plant. The concern for the environment is extraordinary and this should be a model for other companies." Sujarwanto said.
Sujarwanto also said that the planting movement carried out by BPI must continue to be encouraged and cared for, hopefully not only in Tombo village, but in other villages. BPI's role in development, nature conservation, health, education and culture is extraordinary. Very helpful for government programs in various sectors.
Head of the DLHK Central Java Province, Widi Hartanto, also greatly appreciated and thanked BPI for always playing an active role in environmental programs.
"The Sustainable Watershed program is one proof of concern for the environment for nature conservation," said Widi Hartanto.
