Batang Power Plant Officially Designated as a National Vital Object

BATANG - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined that the Central Java Power Plant with the capacity of 2 x 1,000 MW (Batang Power Plant) owned by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) as a national vital object (Obvitnas) in the field of Energy and Mineral Resources. This decision was received on December 28, 2023 through a letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources No. T-2450/BN.05/SJA.4/2023.


Batang Power Plant that uses ultra supercritical technology is designated as obvitnas based on the results of inventory and verification of areas/locations, buildings/installations, and/or businesses that meet the characteristics and criteria set. This determination is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No 448.K / BN.05 / MEM. S/2023 dated December 20, 2023.

Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, General Manager of Stakeholder Relations PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia stated, the status of Obvitnas is a form of government recognition, and a form of government commitment to infrastructure development, especially in the electricity sector. 

"We are committed to being a reliable power plant and able to consistently provide electricity supply to PLN through the Jamali Grid network," said Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, Monday (22/1)

In addition, BPI as part of the community is also committed to strengthening the beneficiaries of CSR programs to become independent communities and contribute to a sustainable environment. CSR programs that have been carried out since 2012 include Economics programs, Education programs, Health programs, Social, Economic and Cultural programs, and Infrastructure Programs. 

"We will maximize our contribution to the community and environment and be a part that provides benefits to the regional economy and people's lives in Batang Regency," concluded Aryamir. (*)
