BPI and Batang Fire Fighters Hold Fire Fighting Drill at Batang Power Plant
BATANG – In order to train preparedness in emergency conditions, the Emergency Response Team of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) in collaboration with the Batang Regency Fire Department (Damkar) held a Joint Training activity in dealing with fire incidents in the fuel tank area of the Batang Power Plant.
BPI HSE General Manager Josman Ginting said that this initiative reflects BPI's concern for safety and is a mitigation measure to overcome potential fire risks that may occur, especially within the scope of the Batang Power Plant area as a National Vital Object.
"In addition, this activity also aims to provide knowledge and skills of the Emergency Response Team to handle fire incidents on fuel tanks, as well as evacuation of accident victims, train good team coordination, and evaluate the adequacy of existing emergency response plan procedures," said Josman Ginting.
Meanwhile, M. Syafi'I as the Head of the Fire Department of the Satpol PP of Batang Regency expressed his appreciation for BPI's initiative which has involved the Batang Regency Fire Department for this fire emergency response training.
"This exercise is very important to create awareness and prepare the emergency response team and employees of the Batang Power Plant in dealing with emergency conditions effectively, thus, it is hoped that readiness and quick response can be realized in dealing with fire emergency situations, especially in the Batang Power Plant area." said M. Syafi'i.
