Commemorating National Health Day, Batang Power Plant Receives Appreciation from the Batang Regency Government

Bhimasena Power, PLTU BATANG – PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) received appreciation from the Batang Regency Government (Pemkab) as a CSR provider in the health sector related to Community-Based Total Sanitation Program Support (STBM), Stunting Rate Reduction Program, and Open Defecation Free (ODF) Program. This appreciation was given at the 60th National Health Day Commemoration event with the theme "Healthy Together Movement" at the Batang Health Office on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
 
In 2022, the stunting rate in Batang Regency reached 13.46 percent. However, national data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Study (SSGI) stunting in Batang reached 21 percent, the development of reducing the stunting rate in 2024 was successfully suppressed to 7.7 percent. Meanwhile, the achievement of 100% ODF in Batang is illustrated by 100% sanitation access, which based on data from the Health Office until December 2022, there are still 89 villages out of 248 villages in Batang Regency and the development as of August 31, 2023 from a total of 248 villages and sub-districts that implement STBM, 248 villages and sub-districts. This is linear with the achievement of ODF villages which is also 100%.
 
BPI Chief Operating Officer Yoshimitsu Fujii expressed his appreciation from the Batang Health Office as a result of the implementation of the company's mission to contribute to regional and Indonesian development, as well as strive for harmony with the community and the environment, through CSR Programs in various fields such as Economy, Education, Infrastructure, Socio-Cultural and Environment and Health for the community around the Batang Power Plant.
 
"We implement various Health CSR Programs such as providing support for stunting rate reduction programs, STBM programs, ODF programs, annual programs for Village Health Forums and Posyandu Cadres, as well as basic food packages for the elderly. We are always committed to collaborating with the Batang Regency Government to realize a healthy, empowered and prosperous Batang Regency community," said Yoshimitsu Fujii.
 
The Head of the Batang Health Office, dr. Didiet Wisnuhardanto, said that Batang Regency since 2023 has achieved Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This success cannot be separated from the support of various parties such as PT BPI and other companies.
 
"We encourage other companies to implement CSR programs in Batang Regency, especially in the health sector. And thank you to BPI and other companies who have worked together with the Batang Health Office to achieve UHC," said dr. Didiet Wisnuhardanto.
 
Meanwhile, in her direction, the Acting Regent of Batang Regency dra. Lani Dwi Rezeki said her appreciation to health workers that had struggled to overcome Open Defecation Free (ODF) and Stunting in Batang Regency.
 
"That the Batang Regency Government has carried out the UHC program according to the direction of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia which has reached 97 percent, health services for the people of Batang Regency have been free of charge at hospitals and 21 health centers. This UHC program can be successful because there is CSR assistance from companies in Batang Regency such as PT BPI and other companies. This achievement cannot be separated from the role of synergy and solid collaboration to all parties in Batang Regency. Thank you to PT BPI for freeing 2 villages from stunting and contributing to the UHC program," said Lani Dwi Rejeki. (*)
